Prairie Nursery No Mow, the Original "Eco Lawn":  Proven Success Since 1994

This specially designed blend of of six slow-growing, fine fescue turf grasses will:

  • Save Time and Money!
  • Grow to form a dense turf 
  • Thrive in full sun or partial shade
  • Require little, if any, watering (once established) or fertilizing,
  • Choke out weeds, once turf is established,
  • Reduce mowing to once or twice a year... or never!

    Recommended Zone for "No Mow" is shown in the dark green region, in the northernmost portion of the map below. This region is best suited to cool season turf grasses, such as the fine fescues in the "No Mow" turf blend.

    The Transition Zone is the light green area between the two zones lshown below, it is suitable for either cool season or warm season turf grasses. The "No Mow" Lawn Mix will typically perform well in this area, except when planted in hot, drought prone locataions such as south-facing hillsides, very dry rocky or sandy soils.mmers.

    Not Recommended Zone is in yellow, in the sourthern portion of the map. These hotter climates are best suited to warm season grasses that can tolerate long, warm summers.

  •  "No Mow" Lawn Mix is never recommended for planting in wet locations or on heavy clay soils with less than four inches of loose, loamy topsoil.
